My Approach To Therapy
I am a counseling intern with a background in healthcare, including work in social services and crisis. I earned my undergraduate degree from Northwest Missouri State University and am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Upper Iowa University. My path to counseling has been shaped not only by my professional experiences, but also by my own life journey, which deepened my desire to support others in meaningful and compassionate ways.
I approach therapy through the lens of attachment theory, with a strong belief in the importance of feeling safe, seen, and understood. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. I work with children (ages 5 and up), adolescents, and adults. I look forward to expanding my work with couples in the future.
I have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and continue to grow my skills in the Gottman Method and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I use a variety of evidence-based approaches and tailor my work to meet your unique needs and goals. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, career stress, life transitions, and difficulties with emotional regulation.
Mindfulness is an important part of both my personal and professional life. I maintain a daily practice of yoga and meditation, and I enjoy helping clients incorporate mindfulness practices if it feels like a good fit for them.
I am passionate about helping people feel more grounded, connected, and empowered in their lives. I believe each person has the capacity for growth and healing, and I feel truly honored to walk alongside you in that process. Therapy can be a meaningful investment in yourself and your well-being.
Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, photography, spending time in nature, and continuing my own mindfulness and meditation practices.
